Our Story

The Trattoria Antellesi, located in the historic center of Florence, between the San Lorenzo Market and the Santa Maria Novella station, offers a Tuscan menu featuring dishes faithful to tradition.

The ancient origins of Trattoria Antellesi in Florence date back to medieval Florence when the Antellesi or dell’Antella family, of German descent, arrived in Tuscany around the 11th century.

When the city’s government changed, the Antellesi were forced to give up all their possessions and started their restaurant business.
Today, this historic restaurant in Florence benefits from the decades of experience of Riccardo.

Our story began more than 40 years ago.

Starting from the “Tavole calde” as they used to say, to the arrival at “Giannino in San Lorenzo,” we have tried to carry on the tradition of Florentine cuisine, which is nothing more than grandma’s cooking, everyday cooking, and today Alberto and the cook Ilaria, born in the most genuine part of Florence, via de Macci, strive to continue to carry on what everyone cherishes, “the love for Florence and its history.”
